Sandefjord Airport Car Rental
Sandefjord Airport (TRF) is an international airport that serves as a regional as well a low cost airport to Oslo. It is considered the second busiest airport to Oslo even though it's almost 3 times the distance to the major Norway city.
The city was famous worldwide for its health resort. The salt water and sulfur baths attracted the nobility from around the world to the healing powers of the water. Although no longer in existence, the building has been restored and it is presently used for various events. A very important past whaling city, the memories have been kept alive by the whaling museum. It's the only museum in Europe that focuses solely on the history of whaling. There are also Viking ship replicas to visit. 
The following car rental agencies are available for your convenience. They include Avis, Europcar, Budget, Sixt and Hertz. To get to Sandefjord is not that difficult. The city is only 11km and a 25 minute drive from the airport.
After picking up your rental car you want to head out on Torpveien. You will follow this road for approximately 3 km and you'll drive through one traffic circle along the way. This is countryside without a few homes here and there. At this traffic circle, follow it along and take the second exit on Fokserødveien/Fv280. During this segment, you're going to also pass through another traffic circle staying on the same road.
Make a left to get onto the E18 going toward Rv305/Kristiansand/Larvik/Sandefjord. You'll see blue directional signs in clear view that will point you in the right direction. Follow this for 2.9 km. You're going to exit on the Sandefjordsveien/Rv305 going in the direction of Sandefjord/Andebu/Strømstad/Havn. When you get off, you'll loop around and actually cross over E18. Signs to the exit will be clearly marked. Drive this segment of road for 3.7 km and you will go through 1 traffic circle en route. At the next traffic circle, make the first exit onto Sandefjordsveien/Rv303. This takes you into town so you can enjoy all that Sandefjord has to offer.
Getting back to the airport, you will want to reverse the directions above. Of course, you will also want to re-fuel before returning your rental car back to the Sandefjord Airport. So, when taking the "Torp" exit close to the airport, you will see a Shell gas fueling station right in front of you. This would be a great place close to the airport to refuel your Sandefjord Airport rental car. 
The airport does have cafes, shops, pubs and other related services. Before any restricted areas you have the Gastro Pub and Narvesen. After passing through the security you then have access to Cafe Opus, La Baguette and Peppe's Pizza. Also, for shopping you have a duty free shop, bookstore, kiosk and a bar to get all those personal items, souvenirs and drinks to relax before your flight. Of course, wireless Internet is free throughout the airport and the airport also has surf stations just in case you need access and you don't have your own laptop.
Sandefjord Motor Hotel - Sandefjord Motor Hotel is a short 5 to 10 minute drive from the airport and is right off the E18 Motorway. It has free private parking, cable TV with bathrooms in all of the rooms. It's around 5 km from Sandefjord and a 90 minute drive away from Oslo.
Clarion Collection Hotel Atlantic - The Clarion is a nice hotel that is conveniently located. The rooms have modern bathrooms, Satellite TV. Wi-Fi is available everywhere in the hotel with free gym and sauna access. They're unique in that they serve free afternoon coffee/tea and waffles. Plus they have a very popular buffet breakfast served every morning in the dining area. There are photos throughout the rooms and hotel of the historic whaling industry. Also each room purchase comes with an evening meal.
Hotel Kong Carl - The Hotel Kong Carl is an old style hotel with all the modern conveniences that you expect from a hotel. The building itself was built back in the 1600's and each room has bathrooms with a shower, TV and free wireless Internet. The very nostalgic dining area serves a wonderful buffet breakfast everyday and you have access to the whaling museum which is only a five minute walk from the hotel. See picture below. 
The whaling monument can be found at the end of the towns principle street. You can also dine on whale meat at the Kokeriet nearby. Another place you might be interested in is the Øvre Myra Cotter's Farm. The farm is situated in the middle of Sandefjord. It's a great place to view 17th century Norwegian architecture. Just a really neat place.
Remember that car rental in Norway is just about as expensive as it gets. Whether you're renting from Oslo, Molde or Sandefjord, it's gonna be pricey.
