Rotterdam Airport Car Rental
The Rotterdam Hague Airport is the 3rd biggest airport in the Netherlands. Right behind the Eindhoven and the Schiphol, the Hague generally handles over 1 million passengers per year. The airport dates back to about 1955 when construction began and was opened a year later. The facility generally services such airport such as London City, Alicante, and the Rome Fiumicino Airport (among many others). 
The airport has car rental companies such as Hertz, Avis, Sixt, Budget, Europcar, Alamo, National, and Thrifty Car Rental. Car rental parks are situated to the left as you exit the terminal, look for P6. The P6 car park is located within 100 meters of the arrivals terminal.
After picking up the rental car most folks are headed to the city of Rotterdam itself. We generally recommend that you turn out of the car rental park and travel towards the front of the terminal to get out of the airport facility, as there aren't many good signs pointing you in the direction that you probably want to go. So, you taxi in front of the terminal, and veer left after the front of the terminal. You will pass an Argos Oil Service Station on your right hand side as you exit. Turn right on Vliegveldweg towards N209. Travel about 1 km and turn left on N209. Drive for a few hundred meters and notice blue sign on the right hand of the road directing you to Rotterdam. Go past the sign, go over an overpass and exit right off the road on the traffic ring traveling South towards the city. From this point, Rotterdam will be about 5 km. Travel down A13 until it turns into Stadhoudersweg (see picture below) underneath a couple of overpasses. Watch for blue signs continuing to direct you to Centrum.
When returning your rental vehicle back to the Rotterdam Airport, we generally recommend that you reverse the directions above. Don't forget to re-fuel your rental vehicle before returning the car. The Argus Oil fueling service station that we mentioned above will be on the left-hand side as you travel back to the airport. This would be an ideal place to re-fuel. 
As far as we know, there really is only one hotel that would be considered an airport hotel - meaning the hotel is within a minute or two of the airport. This hotel is called the Regardz Airport Hotel. It's very close. In fact, if you're leaving the airport in your rental car - after you travel past the Argos Oil Service station, you will go thru the next junction pass over the Vliegveldweg Road and the hotel will be nestled in some trees. You can't really see it until you're right upon it.
The hotel prices range from about € 120 to € 200, depending on the type of room. Many of the rooms have been updated recently, and by most accounts the visitors agree that this is a pretty nice place to stay (even though the hotel is not the prettiest hotel from the outside). There is room service (although that ends at 11 pm), a bar and lounge and a free shuttle service to and from the hotel. Most patrons report that very near the airport, the hotel is not very noisy.
One of the most important amenities available at the Rotterdam is the free internet access. Shopping is considered pretty good, especially for an airport of its size. Most folks report that queues are decent and not too bad. There are food and drink options both in the transit hall (before security) and some in the departure hall as well. 
As we mentioned above the greatest majority of folks landing into the Rotterdam airport as an end destination eventually travel to Rotterdam itself. However, many folks have something different in mind. For those folks we have compiled the car rental driving distances from the airport.
All types of vehicles are generally available at the Rotterdam Airport. This would include SUV's, luxury cars, 7-passenger minivans or minibuses, economy cars and standard vehicles. Keep in mind that often smaller cars are available in manual shift only. This issue will often depend on the demand for cars at any point in time. Also remember that you can pick up a GPS or children's' seats as add-ons to your rental when booking your car.
