The Paderborn – Lippstadt Airport ( PAD) is located near the city of Buren. The airport is very popular to more than just the immediate area because of the free long-term parking that's available at the airport. The airport has handled more than a million passengers on an annual basis. 
Start your trip right with a car to travel to all the sights and attractions in the region. There is a multistory car parking garage across from the terminal. The rental cars are parked inside of it and currently include cars from three companies - Avis, Europcar and Sixt.
To get to Paderborn, will travel out of the facility towards Alter Hellweg/K37. Take the third exit around the first traffic circle that connects K37. Travel on K37 heading Northeast for about 13 km until you reach the edge of Paderborn. Getting there will require that you go thru several traffic circles - beginning with the one at the airport. We counted five traffic circles to get to the edge of the city. After this, and when you reach the Frankfurter Weg, turn left and then after a couple hundred meters take a slight right on Bahnhofstraße/Frankfurter Weg. When returning your rental car, just follow K37 all the way back to the airport.
If flying out of the airport, you have a few amenities to ease the pain of waiting. First there is a lounge called The Bistro Lounge - With a great selection of freshly baked breads and pastries along with a large selection of different coffees, teas and juices, this is the place to go to relax and get a bite to eat. Next a finer eatery called the Quax Fast Fine Food - A self service restaurant with a commitment to fresh, high quality cuisine.
