Nice Airport Car Rental.....
In June of 2011, the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport opened a Car Rental Center at the airport. The facility accommodates each of the five car rental companies (Avis, Hertz, Europcar, National, and Sixt) doing business at the Nice Airport. The facility will operates on three levels with over 60,000 square meters of area, and sits at Terminal 2 behind the P5 Car Parking area. Recently, it was reported that the Nice Airport generated over 10% of all car rentals in the country of France. Obviously, this is a great addition to an already-great airport.
If traveling to Nice, watch for little green signs planted near the After picking up your car at the Rental Car Facility. These little signs will point you towards the Promenade Edouard Corniglion Molinier Road, which you will travel on just about all the way into Nice. The total trip from the Airport to the city centre of Nice will total approximately 7 km, at most.
When returning the vehicle, you should probably use the same directions as above, only reversed. The road traveling Southwest back to the airport is called by a different name than the one traveling from the airport to Nice. The one traveling back is called Promenade des Anglais. Notice when traveling back to the airport that there are several fueling stations available before you return the vehicle. The Rental Car Center at the Nice Airport will re-fuel your tank, but will charge you more than you would have paid before returning.
One thing to note is that after turning onto the Promenade towards Nice, the signs on the left-hand side of the road will direct you to the Nice City Center about 1 mile from the airport. We generally recommend that you don't take the left-hand turn that the signs suggest. Instead, we recommend that you continue on the Promenade and enjoy the beautiful drive directly into the Nice City Centre.
Nice Airport Amenities.....
A variety of shops and restaurants are fill the halls of the Nice Côte d’Azur. But before we get to that, many folks like to know the Wi-Fi status at various facilities. For folks without a laptop or smartphone, you may hop on one of the internet spaces available throughout the facility. The cost of those range from 2 € to 5 €, depending on the connection time period.
Ok, now to the food. The Nice actually reports some pretty decent food. Sit down restaurants are in both terminals. In Terminal 2, there is a place called Le Badiane. At this one, you will overlook the various runways and eat while watching planes taxi in and out. The food is reportedly pretty good as well.
In the Terminal 1, a restaurant called La Riviera serves up pizzas and other regional specialties - mostly Mediterranean food. It also is reported to be pretty tasty. In addition to the sit-down restaurants, both terminals also host the quicker, fast food stores that you see in just about any airport. Snacks, coffee shops and regular bars are also placed throughout the terminals.
