Jersey Airport Car Rental
The Jersey Airport is the biggest air facility on the island of Jersey situated in the Channel Islands. What started out as a few grass runways has turned into an airport that services almost 1.5 million passengers per year, going and coming. 
Europcar, Hertz and Avis each have a presence at the Jersey Airport. Europcar has two agent desks, one in the main arrivals hall and one in the baggage hall. The Europcar and Hertz cars are actually situated on the airport premises so there's no need of a long shuttle from the airport. The Avis rental vehicles are situated just a few hundred meters away, accessible via a shuttle bus.
There are obviously several places that you might want to check out on the Jersey Island, but with the total population of Jersey hovering around 100,000, you won't find many large towns on the island. But if you're landing at the Jersey Airport and hiring a car for the trip, there's a good chance you're headed to Saint Helier - the island's only real town.
To get to Saint Helier, you will exit out of the Jersey Airport until you come to a traffic circle. At the traffic circle, go left (East) for about 1.2 km until you approach a 'T'. A large rock wall will be right in front of you. Turn right on La Route de Beaumont at the wall and travel for another 1.7 km. You will come to another traffic circle (T) with options of going either left or right. Notice that green signs will point you left on A1 to St. Helier. Turning right will take you down the coast on A1 to St. Aubin. If traveling to St. Helier, turn left and travel about 4 - 4.5 km down the coast on A1 all the way to St. Helier.
When returning your rental vehicle back to the Jersey Airport, you will essentially reverse the directions above to get back. When refueling your rental car with petrol before returning the vehicle back to the airport, we recommend the XMile Service station less than 1 km from the aforementioned traffic circle near the Jersey Airport. When returning your car, go past the entrance to the Jersey Airport at the traffic circle and travel South less than 1 km. The XMile petrol station will be on the left-hand side (there is actually a Rubis Service Station as well just after the XMile). Just reverse course to get your car back to the airport. 
Norfolk Hotel - One hotel that folks often recommend when staying in Jersey is the Norfolk Hotel on La Colombeire in St. Helier. For the money, the Norfolk will be pretty competitive with anything else on the island. It's actually a 2-star hotel in the city, but by all accounts is clean, well-located and serves up really good food. There is a heated pool and a coffee shop on the premises, so that certainly helps. On the whole, the Norfolk might be a little bit dated, but for the price (ranging from $71 - $141 currently), it's hard to go wrong.
Westhill Country Hotel - Another hotel in St. Helier is the Westhill Country Hotel. And it's considered a very good value as well. It's another two-star that features very clean rooms, quality service and great food. It's also convenient to the whole island of Jersey - just like the Norfolk. Prices are decent, especially considering the amenities and heated pool.
Many shopping and eating areas await you at the Jersey Airport. For example the Island Market, the Bar and the Island Coffee Shop each have areas set up offering both food and drink in the departures area. In the arrivals area you will find a World News Cafe offering coffee and a few snacks. Shopping in the Jersey Airport consists of a World Duty Free and the typical shops selling the typical wares.
With limited car hire company lines you would expect to have limited choices when it comes to the type of rental car available. But that's not necessarily the case. You can still pick up the typical compacts and economy cars but vans, minivans, and convertibles are generally available as well. We do, however, recommend that you book early to secure the more unusual vehicles. They do run out from time to time depending on the demand for such vehicles.
