Aeropuerto Haugesund 01

Haugesund Airport Car Rental.....

The airport offers four rental car companies from which to choose.  Avis, Europcar, Sixt and Hertz each offer their services at the airport.  Rental cars are situated right across from the terminal - on the other side of closer parking lots.

Getting to the Haugesund community from the airport is not difficult.  After you pick up your car at the airport you want to get on Helganesvegen/Rv518 leaving the airport going towards Haugensund.  Follow the highway for approximately 3.4 km. There's really only one way to go. This is a beautiful countryside road and a very pleasant drive.
You'll approach a traffic circle and as you're going around, take the third exit onto  Karmøyvegen/Rv47.  You'll see a big building to the right that a has a big blue sign that says Parkiin, which is an airport hotel. Across the way is another industrial type building that has an UMOE sign.  You will be going around and will head off toward the residential area.  Follow this road for another 9.4 km and you're going to go through 8 turning circles.  On the ninth one, your going to exit.  This is also a partial toll road.

At this point you are getting pretty much into the heart of the town. On the ninth traffic circle, you'll want to exit on the third turnoff onto Djupaskarvegen. Djupaskarvegen turns into Skippergata.  Make a right on Strandgata.  You'll be right by the harbor and pretty much in the center of this beautiful city.

Getting back to the airport from the Haugesund area, just reverse the directions above.  Also, you will want to re-fuel before returning your rental car.  There is an UNO X fueling service station about 3 or 4 km from the airport - on the right hand side, heading back to the airport from Haugesund.  This will be your last place to fill up your rental car before getting back to the airport.
