Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN) is located 10 kilometers outside of Kirchberg in central Germany. It used to be a military airport, but as of 1993, it has become a commercial airport with the United States Air Force still using a small portion of the airport for communication reasons. It is also utilized often for small charters for the military, mostly because of it's out of the way location. Air carriers are charged less to operate making it less expensive for passengers flying in and out of the airport.
