Bremen Airport Car Rental and Driving Guide.....

All of the car rental agencies are very easy to access to pick up and drop off your car.  Each of the rental companies are situated within the car rental building at Flughafenallee 22 near T2.  In addition, they all have convenient hours in case you come in early and late and they provide many great options for you such as GPS and children's seats if needed.  The car agencies at the airport are Enterprise, Avis, Europcar, National, Alamo, Hertz, and Sixt.  Each company should represent itself well enough.  Run a booking enquiry above to see which company has the best deal currently.

If traveling to Bremen, you will pick up your rental and head out Flughafenallee to get out of the airport.  You will follow the road around and it will turn to the left.  Turn left to stay on Flughafenallee.  Make another left onto Flughafendamm then make a left on Fitzmauricestraße.  Make a right on Hermann-Köhl-Straße then take the second left on Airbus-Allee.

Then you want to make a right onto Georg-Wulf-Straße.  This will lead you to the A281 ramp.  You want to get on it to get on this highway.  You then go for 1.9 km.  Then you are going to take exit 6-Bremen-Neustadt for B6 toward Cuxhaven/Bremerhaven. You will see a blue directional sign that says Austfalhrt.  Drive for 1.6 km.   Continue straight, you will pass under an overpass and then make a slight left to get on  B6 going towards Bremen-Neustadt/Bremen-Centrum. Follow this for 1.6 km.

You will want to exit at Walle/Fähre/Überseestadt.  There will be a fork and you'll want to stay right and follow the signs for Centrum and then get onto Doventorscontrescarpe.  Doventorscontrescarpe turns into Daniel-von-Büren-Straße.  Make a right on Falkenstraße.  There will be rail tracks in the center divide.  At the first left, make a turn onto Findorffstraße/Kaufmannsmühlenkamp and keep following Findorffstraße follow this for 1 km.  Then make a right on Hollerallee and follow this road for another 1 km.   As you approach a turning circle, you have many options from here to go where you want in the city.

When returning the rental vehicle, we generally recommend that you travel back the way you came - reversing the directions.  Watch for overhead blue signs directing you back to the airport off of 281.

Before arriving back at the airport you will want to re-fuel your rental vehicle before retuning.  Since Bremen is so close to the airport, we generally recommend that you re-fuel before getting back on the road to the airport.  To re-fuel after starting back, you would essentially have to get off on an exit and refuel, then get back on the main road - taking more time than necessary.

Rental Car Attractions Near Bremen.....

The area of Bremen is pretty neat.  As always, we try to encourage our car rental users to take a little time and take in some of the different things to see in and around the city.  These would include the following.

The Markplatz or market square which is old Gothic architecture built in the 14th century.

The Town Hall now has a restaurant with a wine list of over 600 exclusive German wines.  In fact it's also home to some of the oldest wines in the world still stored in their original barrels in what is called the Apostel Chamber.  Probably because of this, the building became a world heritage site listed by UNESCO.

Our Lady's Church or in German, The Liebfrauenkirche, (See Picture Above) is an 11th century creation that has many spectacular murals to view from the 14th century.  Also, on the south of the Markplatz is the Böttcherstraße.  It's a stretch of street that was commissioned back in the early 1900's to artists to make art from the Art Nouveau and Gothic eras.  Although it was shut down at one time by the Nazis, it is once again open and has become one of the cities most popular attractions.  This would make a great rental car excursion.

Other attraction to see include UniversumUniversum Science Center, the Rhododendron-Park Bremen, the Kunsthalle Bremen, Beck's Brewery, Focke Museum, the Weserburg Museum, the Kunstsammlungen Böttcherstraße and the Übersee Museum Bremen.  There are many other buildings, statues and monuments that have similar historical significance and a great story behind every one of them.
