It will turn into a divided two lane highway with a cobblestone median and you'll see large buildings off to the right about a kilometer away. You'll come to the next circle and it will say Barilli.
At the next circle, do the same thing by following it along taking the second exit onto Via Gabriele D'Annunzio. It will also be a two lane highway with out a median, but with a painted divider and there will be barbed wire airport fences on both sides of the road. It turns into a divided highway with a medium and you'll see a series of green panels. I think these are solar panels overhanging the highway. Keep going and you'll see signs for Foggia, Bari and Palese. This goes for approximately 1 kilometer.
Take the ramp to Brindisi/Bari/Taranto. Make sure and take the Bari turn off to the right then keep going and merge your rental car onto SS16. Signs for Bari will be prominent off the side of the road. This turns into SS16/Via Nationale following this along for 4.6 km. Then you want to take exit 4 and merge on Via Napoli toward Bari Centro. You loop around and end up on Via Napoli a. two lane highway with bushes dividing it. You'll start entering the city areas of business and industry. It gets more crowded and follow this for 4.2 km. Keep your eye out for Via Pietro Ravanas, you'll want to turn right. The street turns into a one way. You'll be on one way streets, so be on the look out for the turn. At the third cross street, turn left on Via Abate Giacinto Gimma and follow the road for 1 km. Then you'll want to turn left on Via Argiro and another left onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele II a two lane highway and you're at the heart of the city.

Besides dining and car hire you have many shops including newsstand, bookshop, cosmetics, food, mobile phones, electronics, travel retail, duty free, sports merchandising, sweets, travel goods, office items, tobacconist, toys, clothing, leather goods, books, jewelry.
Best Western La Baia Palace - The Best Western La Baia Palace is located only a mile from the airport and parking is always free. You have access to a private beach which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel restaurant prepares traditional Apulian meals for lunch and dinner with a very substantial continental breakfast. In the summer you can enjoy an ocean setting as meals are served outside on the terrace.
B&B La Rosa Blu - The hotel is 2 km from the airport and has a very nice garden setting for guests. Rooms are air conditioned, a TV and free wireless Internet. A daily continental breakfast with local cheeses, homemade cakes and cappuccino are also provided. Rates start at 75 euros.
