Baden Airport Basics.....
Baden Karlsruhe Airport is located about 15km from the middle of the city. Kuban Air, Hamburg and Ryanair use the airport as a base for many of their flights. For the year 2010, the Baden Airport recorded its highest passenger count since inception. The passengers totaled just under 1.2 million for the year, up over 8% from the year before. Upon arriving at the Baden airport, you should know that all car parking is subject to fees and that they do NOT accept American Express as a valid method of payment. Parking Lot (P3) currently charges .5 Euros per hour and 9 Euros per day. This is the cheapest of all available car parking lots. Also, the underground car park charges 12-14 Euros per day. Of course there are different rates for minute, hour, or weekly car parking terms.
Baden Airport Car Rental.....
Car Rental companies with desks situated in the Baden airport include Avis, Europcar, Hertz, and Sixt.
Getting out of the Baden Airport in your rental car is not too difficult. You will taxi out of the airport on the Victoria Boulevard, then continue on Dieter-Ruckle-Strasse until you hit B36. From there, you can either travel Southwest towards France, or Northeast towards Rastatt and Baden-Baden. When returning the rental car, just reverse those directions into the airport.
Airport Amenities.....
The terminal generally opens the doors to passengers about 2 hours and 30 minutes before the first flight out of the airport. When the last flight arrives, the terminal then proceeds to close. There is a shopping retail outlet called The Travel Value Shop. They offer passengers the typical airport terminal shopping experience. Included are sunglasses, cosmetics and tobacco.
If you find yourself hungry at the Baden Airport, check out the primary Bistro. They serve typical bistro food, such as sandwiches and soups. There's also a couple of coffee shops and a beer garden called 'Flyers', located in the security area.
Services available within the airport include a cash-point. It is important to remember, however, that there is NOT a currency exchange within the Baden airport. You will need to take care of this function somewhere else. Always be mindful of the time you need to check in. Have your boarding card and passport/ID ready as you enter. You should arrive at the airport 1 1/2 hours before departing.
There is a postbox located near the passenger terminal. Use the terminal exit near the check-in area. Go across the street and the P16, short-term parking zone.
Hotels at the Baden Airpark.....
The Baden Airport is actually component of the Baden Air Park. Included in the air park (and within walking distance of the airport) is a golf course, trade building and storage building. Also included is a hotel for those that would like to stay at a comfortable hotel without having to leave the facility. The B & B Hotel at the airport moderately priced, at least in our opinion. For 40-50 EUR, you get an overnight stay with a double bed for 1 or 2 guests, and a desk and chair. Throw in a breakfast for an additional 7 EUR and you're in good shape.

The Baden Airport is situated pretty conveniently to many locations. And, in terms of moving around to those places, the roads are laid out well to get to those places.
