Thousands of folks take the TGV by rail into Avignon every year and rent a car out of Avignon. What is the TGV and what is so great about it? Well, the TGV is actually a high-speed rail service that connects local countries. It is fast. How fast? How about speeds of up to 200 Miles per hour fast, and the TGV currently has the world's record for the fastest train.
The train is based out of Paris and currently goes from Paris to Avignon, Lyon, Luxembourg, all in less than three hours. How about Brussels to the Paris CDG airport in less than two hours? Yes, it is fast, and very convenient. Some of the stations are currently established in Paris train stations including the Est, Lyon, Montparnasse and Charles De Gaulle. The TGV is also located at the Nice, Strasbourg, Avignon, Aix en Provence, Bordeaux, Dijon and Lyon. Rail service also runs to Switzerland, Germany and others.
